Thank you, J.P.To answer your question, yes, I just recently found his serial # on the American Battlefield Monuments Commission web site.He is buried in Normandy. His serial # is 36550552, according to that site.I have a picture of his grave that I have posted on www.findagrave.com.I also posted a photo of him wearing the cactus patch on his left shoulder. The cactus was green and it was on a "ground" of blue with a "sky" of yellow. This photo can be viewed at
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=jacobs&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GScntry=7&GSob=n&GRid=10269901&http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=jacobs&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GScntry=7&GSob=n&GRid=10269901&
I did send my inquery to St. Louis and they rejected it because I wasn't "next of kin."
Thanks for your help and advice.
