Nancy,I accidently came uppon your posting and thought it interesting because I was sure that my dad was in 148th FA.I just called him and that was his outfit.He asked your father's name because he felt he would know most of the guys in battery A.They may have been on the same troop ship that was part of the "Houston" Convoy out of Darwin.Dad thought there should be a history somewhere of the 148th but didn't know of one right off hand.He felt that most of the guys were from the Cour de Lene area of Idaho.(he is the only one left of the 6 from south central ne.)We have had to pry info out of Dad through the years so don't know a lot of details but I have put some information together.Gary Helms, Kearney ne
