Hello, Ms. Hunting, and thank you for your reference. As a matter of fact, I hadn't gone thru Google, and should have. My experience on this gun was limited to training periods at Fort Sill. I don't know that the US-produced weapon EVER made it to Europe. The piece I worked with was the version that fired the 95# projectile.A wonderful and reliable gun. My "weapon of choice" in the Italian campaigns was the 155mm howitzer, which also fired a 95# shell. The main distinction between the Schnieder and the other was the (S)had a single trail and the other was a split trail. Thanks again for the information, and for your kind remarks. Louie.
