Greetings from Fort Worth, TX, Cori Abbott !!! Perhaps the unit you are referencing is the 603rd Tank Destroyer Battalion, which was atttached (date not clear) to the 6th Armored Division until 29 June 1945.
If so, that division participated in the following campaigns:
Normandy (after D-Day), Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace (Battle of the Bulge) and Central Europe.
The division entered combat 28 July 44, and spent 226 days on the line, during which time it had 833 men killed in action, 3,666 wounded, with 156 dying of their wounds.
