You'll be contacting me within thirty days so I'll get this out of the way right now. The 603d was originally attached to and trained with the 3d Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, Washington and was attached to 6th Armored Division prior to going overseas. Landed in Scotland, trained in England and France and saw combat service in France, Belgium and Germany. Company C spent a great deal of time attached to or operating with the 69th Tank Battalion (Battalion Combat Team). Are you looking for a book or writing one? I had a copy of the 6th Armored Division's "yearbook", but sold it a while back. Art Beyer was one of the original members of Company C. He joined the battalion at Fort Lewis from the 10th Artillery when it was first organized. Ask your grandfather if he remembers him.
