Ken, my dad was in 949 battery c. his letters state he was on queen elizabeth same dates. Left England on August 4th and landed in Normandy August 5th, beach landing Omaha beach he thinks, Then started across France, enemy made big move on them at Ausches(spelling is wrong) moved into the Brittany Peninsula and then through Le Mans. and up to Chartus. There he says they had their first SCRAP. Crossed the Seine River at Fontanbleu, came within 18 miles of Paris then turned in other directiona and passed through Reims, then up across Verdun, moved on up to Doucount, stayed there about 2 months then patton decided to take MEtz. then on up to France/Germany border. Enemy made big offensive. Moved up to Bastonge,and stayed in Luxemburg for Christmas. Crossed Rhine on 27th of March at Bappard Germany.
