My father, U.S. Army Capt. Edward J. Krzmarcik (Ret.), served with the Red Arrow Division in the 127th Infantry, B Company(and after his field commission C Company). He was at Buna, Aitape, Sanananda, Villa Verde, among others, and like so many others, never said much about those horrific experiences. After my brother (USMC Pfc. John E. Krzmarcik) was KIA near DaNang, South Vietnam 6/7/1969, my father talked a bit more about his WWII time, but never as much as I wanted to hear. Since his passing in 1997, I have researched as much as I can to learn about what he went through that changed him. I am working on a manuscript about his experience.
