Paul Roy Stokes - Engineer

Just started trying to find information about my Uncle Paul Roy Stokes.I am pretty sure he served as an Engineer in France but not sure of the unit.any thoughts on good websites to search for information is appreciated.All i have so far from Ancestry is the BIRLS dates enlistment 27 Apr 1944
