0n 03 Jul 1943, my father, William Cecil Moody, entered the service as a Private. (Later, he was promoted to Sargeant) His military occupation was given as 'Airplane Woodworker 550'. He made wooden airplane replacement parts
He was assigned to Base Air Depot #1 - Burtonwood, England, 8th AAF, B-2 Sq. Base.
He was living in Warrington, England in April 1945, when Germany surrendered.
May 1945 he was sent to Frances for 3 months as part of the Occupational Forces. - Aug 1945, he was sent to Germeny for 3 month
I have 3 photocopy pictures of his during that time. In one of them, he is standing beside a plane with the name 'Danita' painted on it
