5th.Barrage Balloon Squadron - WWII

I have been searching the web but have not had any luck at locating information on the 5th Barrage Balloon Squadron. I have a couple of letters my father wrote home dated Dec. 31,1942 returned address as 5th Barrage Balloon Squadron, Fleet Marine Force and March 14, 1943 with returned address US Marine Corps, Unit #550. I know he was on Guam at one time. Any help to point me in the right direction?...Thanks.
