His place of induction is irrelevant. The 29th Infantry Division was originally Maryland and Virginia National Guard and was inducted into Federal Service in February 1941. The 115th Infantry was Maryland National Guard and all who were originally inducted with the regiment were from that state (or the immediate area). As casualties occurred, replacements were assigned without regard to the state (or geographic area) from which they entered service.
You're looking for anyone who knew him - preferably parties who served with him. Your best source is the divisional and/or regimental veterans' association(s). The address of the divisional association is:
29th Infantry Division Association 5928 Robindale Road Baltimore, MD 21228-1224
You might inquire about the 115th Infantry Association - if, in fact, there is one. These associations are private concerns and usually can only provide info on those who are (or have been) members or individuals who've had contact with the association for one reason or another. Good luck; you're going to need it.
