I'd appreciate an info on how to trace the movement of the 787th MP Batallion . My Father was in itduring W.W.II. I know he was stationed in London England in 1943, landed on Normandy Beach on D+ 3 or 4, went on to Caen or Cherbourg, I'm not sure which, then he was assigned to the H.Q.of the Provost Marshall in Paris. He was part of a small group of officers and men sent into Paris while the city was being taken, to set up an administrative H.Q. Snipers were a problem. Is there any way to trace the history of the Batallion or get a copy of the unit history? Thanks for any assistance possible. Jack Stoelting.
