That would have been 19th Tank Battalion,
9th Armored Division, which participated in these campaigns:
Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe:
starting at St. Vith on 16 Dec 44, and
ending at Rudolec on 7 May 45, at war's end.
True, he was under General Patton's Third Army, but only briefly, 6 May /7 May 45.
The Division was on the line 91 days, with
570 men Killed in Action, 2,280 wounded and 123 died from wounds.
His commanding officer was
Major General John W. Leonard, from Oct 42.
