You may find a striking photo of HMS LOTUS afloat in Plymouth Sound in the early 1940's.
which should produce the caption:
" Royal Naval Vessels of Plymouth Sound in
World War II".
I have a printed reference which describes the Flower class of corvettes, but does not mention the HMS LOTUS by name.
The only ship named in this class is the HMS GLADIOLUS, which was the first unit built, and which was launched 14 Jan 1940.
The book states that a total of 45 were built in the UK, and 113 in Canada, for launch between 1940 and 1942. Of these, 31 were lost at sea during the war.
If you think that it would be beneficial, I will scan and forward the page which depicts the Flower class, including specifications et al.
I will need an e-mail address. OK ?
