Ol' Uncle Bob's Takin' a Break
Yep! I'm gonna do some serious travelin' over the next couple months or so. I won't be doing any in-depth research for a while - except that next week I'll be in St. Louis and plan to spend a couple days stumbling around the Records Center there.
If you'd like for me to research someone PERSONALLY, send a deposit - a check or money order for $100, payable to K. A. Powell - to:
Ol' Uncle Bob
Post Office Box 73300
Metairie, Louisiana 70033-3300
Even though your subject's individual personnel record may have been lost in the 1973 fire, there are still all sorts of secondary sources from which I can obtain info (the complex covers about five acres and I know of things in places where the employees don't even know there are places).
Re your deposit; I charge only enough to recover my costs (I won't charge for the visit 'cuz I'm going to be there anyway). If I find nothing, I REFUND THE WHOLE ENCHILADA! Fair enough? (I've said time and again, I don't need YOUR money - I just want to keep MY money. You can go broke real fast being a Good Samaritan - I know that from experience.)
