Re: 697th Field Artillery Battalion - Battery C

Hello again, Kevin !
I must correct an error in the campaigns listed in my initial post.
Delete reference to the Northern France campaign,
25 July 44 / 14 Sept 44.
Rome-Arno, 22 Jan 44 / 9 Sept 44;
North Apennines, 10 Sept 44 / 4 Apr 45.
The battalion was also engaged in the Naples-Foggia campaign, 9 Sept 43 / 21 Jan 44.
Sorry for that... I made the mistake of letting my finger
do the walking/thinking. (In fact, I was feeding information related to the 696th FA BN.)
The rest of the information is correct.
So, in the end, your dad was very involved in several major encounters.
Sorry that you lost him in '52.
Ironically, I contracted amoebic dysentery during my 13 month tenure in Italy during the war, which went undiagnosed and untreated until June-1950. Lucky for me, it kept me from going to Korea.
Finally, I will go over the divisions, and see if I can pick up on any of your dad's assignments.
