Was looking for additional information on this unit (94th Coast Artillery). I believe my father, Efrain E. Ramirez, served in it. He speaks of being involved in a top secret campaign coded "California", which he learned of when he was sent to CIA offices in Langley Field in 1941. He worked with radar/anti-aircraft equipment and was an Army sergeant. He said that his unit was a part of the New Hampshire Guard Unit and that they shipped on the Queen Mary to Sydney, Australia and then to Lai and Hollandia, New Guinea where they built underground radar monitoring stations. He was on the Antoine Saugrain when it was sunk by aerial torpedos on the way to Leyte in the Phillipines. This was in 1942. He was in Leyte for 8 months. I believe he was also stationed in Luzon. Do you have any information on this unit and do you know if I've correctly identified this unit as the 94th Coast Artillery? I'd appreciate any information you might have. Thank you.
