Constituted in the Army of the United States (AUS) 24 December 1942 and allotted to 75th Infantry Division. Activated 15 April 1943 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Departed New York Port of Embarkation 14 November 1944. Arrived in England 22 November. Landed in France 13 December 1944. Participated in Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe Campaigns. Returned to United States November 1945. Arrived at New York Port of Embarkation 25 November 1945 and inactivated at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey the following day. Allotted to the Army Reserve 21 February 1952. Activated 1 March 1952 with Battalion Headquarters at Tyler, Texas. Inactivated 31 January 1955 at Tyler, Texas.
