The battalion participated in three opposed landings and eight named campaigns and was included in one award of the Presidential Unit Citation. The battalion was twice decorated by the French and cited twice in Belgian Army Orders and is thus entitled to display both the Fourragere in the colors of the French Croix de Guerre and the Fourragere in the colors of the Belgian Croix de Guerre. Unit decorations - if any - and campaign credits to which your uncle would be entitled would depend on what battery he was assigned to and his dates of service with the battalion.
Again, contact the First Division Museum. They have a great deal of information on former members as well as units.
