82nd Bombardment Squadron (Medium)

You don't specify whether he was USAAF, RAF, etc., or the type of squadron but I found 82d Bombardment Squadron (Medium) which was based in India and Burma from March 1944 to December 1945. Element of 12th Bombardment Group (Medium). Assigned to Tenth Air Force while based in India and Burma.

Unable to find a squadron, group or Tenth Air Force veterans association but the following may be able to assist in locating former buddies:
