Hello Mr. Turner, Thank you for the wonderful information! My grandfather’s name was Roy Walter Theil. The following is information from his discharge paper: Organization: Co A 146 ENGR BN Date of entry into Active service July 16 1943. Date of separation: Dec 12 1945. Battles & Campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe. Decorations & Citations: 3 overseas service bars, WWII victory medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 1 silver battle star, Good conduct medal. (Note we also found a Presidential citation in with his other medals, do you know why it was not mentioned with the other medals?)
Do you know what it means in the box (on discharge paper) that says "Arm or Service" then filled in with "CE"? Also "Component" filled in with "AUS"?
