I don't know Ray, in fact I served in Italy, while he was in the Pacific.
However, I can shed a little more light on his unit's combat history, continuing from where my post #4550, Sept 4, 2001, ended :
160th IR moved up Storm King Mountains, against strong opposition, 6 Feb 45; 185th IR attacked Snake Hill, and captured Hill 1500, 15 Feb 45; 160th IR captured the heavily fought for Object Hill, 19 Feb 45; the division went into R&R in the San Fabian-San Jacinto- Manaoag area, 2 Mar 45; division left Luzon, 15 Mar 45; 160th IR landed Bacolod, 30 Mar 45; 185th IR and 160th IR took Talisay, 2 Apr 45; all three regiments, plus the 503rd Parachute Infantry attacked the Negritos-Patog area, 9 Apr 45, where the fighting was described as fierce; 160th IR took Hill 3155, 18 Apr 45, again, against strong resistence; the hill was lost to the Japanese, but regained by the regiment, 23 May 45; division returned to Panay Island, 13/27-45; went into R&R in the Oton-Santa Barbara-Tiguuan area, which was its location at war's end, 15 Aug 45.
That is all I can tell you.
I hope that this is of interest to Ray and the rest of your family.
