Nope... my input is correct.
Both of my referenced battalions were non-divisional, which was explained in my post to Elizabeth Adams.
You are correct in your understanding that the
494th FA BN was a part of the U.S. 12th Armored Division, which, like the 949th FA BN, fought in Europe.
FYI, in case you don't have the information,
the 494th departed NYPE, 20 Sep 44;
arrived England, 1 Oct 44;
arrived France-ETO, 9 Nov 44.
You have its listed campaigns, I'm sure.
I appreciate your offer to share information on the 494th, butI have no personal interest in the unit, and would have no use for it. Thanks, anyway !
