For our local history library, I am re-editing compiled local service records from World War II, authored by a historian long deceased. Each entry is brief, usually containing name, parents, enlistment and discharge dates, and battles and area served.
Sometimes an entry will read CDD discharge and other times an entry will read CCD discharge. I want to know if these are truly two separate discharge codes and what each means, or if, as was sometimes the case elsewhere in the document, the difference might have been typos. If so, which is correct.
A 2nd question: Several entries end with a notation such as ‘81 points’. What might that mean?
