I know very little about the 124th. My father rarely spoke about the war but I do remember him mentioning being in the infantry. I was able to get his records from the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. They show that he enlisted in November 1940. He was sent to Europe in May 1942. Battles and Campaigns listed are Central Europe, Naples-Foggia, Rhineland, Rome-Arno, Southern France and Tunisia. This list ends with the phrase GO 33WD 45 as amended, whatever that means. Under organization, it has BTRY D 124TH AAA GUN BN. He returned home in September 1945 and was discharged on 16th of that month. Thanks for your help.
