One of my uncle's letters written on Oct 20, 1943 in Bari, Italy has a return address of : II A.S.A.C. (5), APO #528 NY, NY.. Can anyone help to decipher those letters? He left on Sept 13 from Newport News, Va (no ship name given)and arrived on Oct 11 in Bari. I am attempting to trace his route from the states through this time period up to the point when his last letter (Nov 7)indicated he was "finally assigned to a company" (34th Infantry Div, 135th Infantry Regiment,Company F) which was then located somewhere in central Italy. Any help regarding this question is appreciated. Thank you!
