His name shows up in my "field history", sort of a daily war diary for the 507th that was kept in Normandy. He is listed as KIA on the 17th June. There is no detail information in this diary--just compilations of names KIA, WIA, LWA, POW etc. up to 14 July.
I have the 507 pre-embarkation history book, and checked through it but could not find his name. This is a difficult book to look stuff up in since it is not indexed or alphabetized. If we knew what Company or Battalion he was in that would narrow it down some, then hopefully we could find his picture in the 1500 faces shown (mostly group shots).
On 17 June the 507 was still not under cohesive command and control.Elements were all over the peninsula and gradually coming together in recognizable Company and Battalion formations.Without knowing his Company, we can not estimate where he landed.Once we have an idea of where he landed we can assign his movements to one of four distinct 507 groups, and/or some cluster of troopers from one of the other Regiments, and perhaps put together a scenario of his brief combat history.
