My father was Francis Anthony Schaefer, better known as "Frank". He was a member of the 40th Division in the 115 Quartermaster Regiment and graduated from the Camp San Luis Obispo Bootcamp on December 7, 1941.
He always said that he was stationed off Sicily, and later in Morocco. He took many pictures of his Army buddies, and the sights in Palermo. While in Morocco, he was apparently afflicted with some serious health problems as he had a letter from one of his buddies which recalled his sudden weight loss.
He was later stationed at the Army base in Tacoma, Washington. He died in 1984, and I would like to be able to document his movements throughout World War II.
Incidently, he said that he was "always on KP", probably because he saved an Army cookbook and was the camp cook!
I would appreciate any information on him. Maybe you or your father are in some of the pictures.
