Pat-- Since your first posting I have looked at the 100th BG site several times. There appears to be many errors in spelling, rank and other details.
There are several Vic or Victor's listed on the site. For one reason or another each can be eliminated from your search.Either they are Officers--which would put them in a billet different from Dick's, or they were KIA or POW before the date mentioned.Only one fits the profile listed and the crew data is this:
2nd Lt Eathan Porter P CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel 2nd Lt Emmet B. Turner, Jr CP CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel 2nd Lt Vernon R. Henriksen NAV CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel 2nd Lt Nthaniel T. Gault BOM CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel Cpl Victor P. Distolrath TTE CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel Cpl Donald F. Houk ROG CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel Cpl Clarence A. Griffin BTG CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel Cpl Clarence A. Griffin WG NOC Cpl James A. Murray WG CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel Cpl Francis O. Crist TG CPT 28-Feb-45 Kassel 350th Sqdn.. Crew joined the 100th 15 Sep 44.
As you can see Distolrath fits the mold for your search. However there are a few problems.
1: This would be a VERY unique crew if all the EMs were Corporal--just strange. 2: SSDI has no listing for ANYONE by that name as ever having died. 3: Nationwide phone sweep shows NO ONE with that name at all. 4: This could very well be the guy--but there is a problem with the spelling of his last name.It is not the first time a name was improperly transcribed, and a person was lost to history.
Note: On the 100th BG page CPT means "Completed Tour".
