An uncle recently passed away and the cause of death was listed as Carbon Tetrachloride Poison. The family, and his Doctors, think that uncle had been exposed to the poison during the years he served in the Navy (1944-1946)as a Machinst Mate 3rd Class.
The V.A. says - No Way!
Research regarding the poison as well as research of the job description (Machinst Mate) shows a *possibility* uncle _was_ exposed while in the Navy. Uncle was a minister from the time he got out of the service - till his death.
Has anyone else had this happen to someone in their family?Does anyone know if there is a data bank, somewhere, that may have a list showing service men who (may) have died of this type of poison?
I found a great description of the ship, Manila Bay, (on the web - comes from "Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships") but nothing about the fate of any crew members.
Thank you for what ever avenues, to search, that you may offer.
