Yes- my husband was in the Navy and does alot of Military History stuff- so I got the low down on what stuff was- I probably didn't make myself clear-there were many missions that he was on, and one of his missions was at Normandy. He had another mission at the bauxite mines, guarding them.He was in the Army Air corp and did special duty in Surinam. The aircraft that he was on was a B-17.His brother has told me that he landed in Normandy on the beach, and that was the worst duty he ever had to perform. My curiosity strikes as in- did anybody know him? With all the "special duty" stuff, was he a memorable guy?The National Geographic article is called- 33 men and 7 aiplanes and was published sometime back in the 30's and/or 40's.I went hunting, but of course, the Library here doesn't have the magazines I want.:)Keittaa
