Hi! I just wanna know some stuff about my grandfather. I am a Filipina but my grandfather was an American Soldier who served here in the PHILIPPINES. His name is FLOYD MYERS. I was told that he was with the US ARMY. He was stationed here sometime during the 30's, I guess. He stayed here for quite a while and married my grandmother, Adela dela Cruz. They had three children and my mother is the eldest, DOROTHY MYERS. They lived in Marilao, Bulacan. Shortly after his youngest child was born, he left. My mother was barely 8 years old when he went back to the states. The only address that he left was a P.O. Box in Whitesville, West Virginia. My mother's aunt tried writing to him but he never responded. We don't know if he even got the letters. They never got any letter since. It was only later when my mother already had her own family when she saw old letters from her father. It was written few months after he left. My grandmother kept it from her. My grandfather tried to keep in touch but my mother never got the letters. Even the return address was removed. He gave her some pictures attached with that letter. She never got over it. She grew up hating her father when he tried to get them, his kids. It was her mother who got in the way. PLEASE HELP ME!!! My mother still cries everytime we talk about it. It wasn't easy for her growing up as an AMERASIAN, much less fatherless. MY GRANDFATHER IS FLOYD MYERS AND HE SERVED WITH THE US ARMY HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES. I WAS TOLD THAT HE LATER BECAME A CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE. PLEASE, HELP ME!!!
