The 454th was a B-24 Liberator unit operating out of the MTO. It is interesting to note that on their mission list that they are not credited with a mission on 26JUL44 which is the date of death given at ABMC.This happens sometimes, so you have to be careful in your research to determine where the error occurred.
Usually in the case of MIAs one back tracks a year-and-a-day to determine the date of loss.However in this case the 454th was still in the States, so it is obvious that he would not have been buried overseas if lost in July 43.There is an error in reporting in this case.
