U.S.S. St. Paul CA-73

By Marion Scherer August 25, 2002 at 12:13:09

I have in my possesion a lovely note card that my late father, Captain William C. Waller, USAF, wrote to my grandfather after visiting the U.S.S. St. Paul in January, 1952.The front of the note card has a very good photograph of the U.S.S. St. Paul.

Additionally, I have a photograph of the aft's main battery of 8" guns and one of the St. Paul underway as my father takes off in a helicopter.

There are two photographs of Navy Officers, one of Commander Linder, "Executive Officer of the Cruiser St. Paul" and one of Commander Slater "Gunnery Officer of the St. Paul."

I would like to make these photographs available to the gentlemen and/or the families of the U.S.S. St. Paul and/or any bonafide researcher of Navy history.

I am also interested in additional personal histories of the U.S.S. St. Paul during that period of time, particularly involving liason with the USAF.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Marion Waller Scherer
daughter of William C. Waller
