Thanks, Louie
I am trying all avenues. I know they might have the ones designated but I am finding there are some little known at least to me. The local VFW oft times in the newsletter include a section called, "Medals To Which You Are Entitled" by MGySgt. Earl MacPherson USMCR (Ret)
He refers to them as the lesser-known ones. This month is
Hors de Combat Medal. Translated means "wounded and injured in the line of duty. It is available to all uniformed personnell of both wars and any combat action since that time. It is also available posthumously to the next of kin of the one who paid the ultimate sacrifice. A poppy on the ribbon identifies a posthumous award.
Thanks Mickey
