Thank you for writing back and for all your information.
I will check the Argentine phone book after I finish replying to you.
My grandfather was born in Buenos Aires, and according to my family, he was from Buenos Aires.I'll check out ellisisland.org for Pasquale, who may be a relative of some sort.
We don't know the name of his brother either. He had a sister named Ana, who tried to find my grandmother in the 80's, but her trail has gone cold also (she had emigrated here as well and married, but we can find no trace of her).
The story we are told is that he came from a well to do family, and attended college here in the States rather than gong to military school. After college he went to NYC and went to the Colombia School of Journalism, and traveled to Havana as a foreign correspondent.I have seen some online ships' records of his sailing in and out of New York, but none for Ellis Island. He worked as a steward on Merchant Marine ships, which is how he died.
My dad assumes the family was Spanish, not Italian, but I have no way to verify that!
But thank you again for your help;I would really like to find this family for my dad and my aunt and uncles.
