Thanks Jean. The following is my transcription of the first part of the 6 April 1863 letter for your interest. "I am a gain at a great Distance From The Lachlain a Party of four of us arrived here a few Days Ago after five weeks Journey We mean to prospect here But oun to the heavy floods We ar at a Stand Still and can not get RationsThere is non on Bourke we Smoke Tea Leaves & L…. a good Deal on Pig weed ?? In Stead of Bread ill stay here For About Six or 8 months and Then go right Down to Sydney"
Maybe not too many letters from Bourke in those days - must try to find a good home for it.
