Surry II 1833 Bridget GRADY/SULLIVAN James Wright arrived in Sydney on the ship "Hindostan" on the 4 November 1821 after leaving England on the 29 July 1821. At the age of 28, James was sent out after farging bank notes. He was sentenced to 14 years. James is described as being 5 foot, 7 1/4 inches in height, fair and florid in complexion. light hair with brown eyes. Religion - Protestant. James was assigned to a Mr William Lawson working at Prospect, NSW. He received his ticket of freedom on the 13 May 1835. James married Bridget Grady (another convict) on 27 January 1836 at Parramatta, Sydney, NSW. Bridget was also known as Bridget Sullivan
In the County of Norfolk at the lent Assizes 24.3.1821 James WRIGHT age 28 was convicted of 'Uttering forged bank notes' and received 7 years. He arrived on the "Hindostan" 24.11.1821. On the 24.8.1824 he was discharged from the Parramatta barracks. He was consigned to William LAWSON. In October 1824 he was on a return of proceedings of the Bench Magistrates for "making away with shoes the property of his master and selling them contrary to his express orders" sentence to 100 lashes and to be worked in the Gaol Gang for 6 months. In the 1828 census he was still working for William Lawson. On 22.12.1835 he married (From the Female Factory.)Bridget GRADY alias SULLIVAN arrived 9.3.1833 "Surry II".
