Hi everyone I'm doing research into the above who I'm trying to connect with my Robert WEBB in NSW.
One Robert WEBB came to NSW as a convict.
He was convicted of stealing a scythe, in 1826 on board the prison hulk Captivity at Plymouth. He is transported to Australia for 7 years on board the vessel Midas.
His name now has a middle christian name of Rawlins, but it is the same Robert Webb transported on the Midas for stealing a scythe and his occupation is once again listed as a sawyer.
Hampshire, England, Extracted Parish Records Rawlins, Robert-Webb, of Eling, labourer, b., son of Elizabeth Rawlins, bap. at Dibden, 21 Mar 1802 , & Martha Killford, of E., sp., dau. of William and Martha Killford, bap. at Minstead, 28 May 1787 , at E., 24 Mar 1823. Collection: Hampshire: - Marriage Licences, Bishop of Winchester, 1689-1837 (Marriage)
On one of his daughters birth certificates here in NSW (to new wife Sarah ELPHICK) it states that Robert comes from HAMPSHIRE, England and is a Sawyer.Trying to find anymore information on the family ie parents ROBERT WEBB and ELIZABETH RAWLINS.
