The Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1931 - 1954) Saturday 23 October 1943 p 6 Article MURDER INQUEST ADJOURNED Police Enquiries Continuing Giving evidence yesterday at an in- quest conducted by the Acting City coroner (Mr. G. Ziesing) Into the death on October 6 of Clarence Keith Seckold. 25,after be had received serious Injuries In the Memorial Gardens, on the northern side of Government House grounds. Dr. J. B. Thierach said that a post-mortem examination, which he held, revealed, that death was due to brain Injury caused by flve scalp cuts, varying from % to 3 in. In length. The cuts on the head were apparently made by a blunt instrument, but injuries to the body were caused by a different type of instrument. Plainclothes Constable Sutherland stated that Clarence William Seekold. of NSW. had Identified the body as that of his son who had been In the service or the Commonwealth Railway Department and had been stationed at Loongana. In Western Australia. Constable Collates said that when he first saw Seekold he was hunched up In a sitting po?tnre and was moaning, but did not attempt to speak. Nearby were bloodstains on the (round and a blood stained accordeon case, suit case, and rug. In the man's clothing he found t ration book. £7 10/ In cash, and a wal let containing a birth certificate. Be removed the nu to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he died later the same day. Detective-Sgt. G. Walter told the Coroner that be had made enquiries Into the cause of death, but had no Information to place before him. The enquiries were being continued. The Inquest was adjourned.
