This is an enormously long shot as Davies is a very common name in Wales.
My Great-grandfather, Edward Davies (father also Edward Davies) emigrated from Newport, Wales, when he was "a baby" to Victoria where his father opened a tannery on the Yarra River. He was born on 12th April 1852.
He moved to South Australia as a young man and became an architect in Adelaide, where he married my great-grandmother, Rhoda Sexton.
This is all I know about his background-I know what happened to him once he reached Adelaide but so far I have not been able to find out when he arrived in Melbourne, what ship he arrived on or who his mother or siblings were.
Do you have any other information?Maybe she moved to South Australia because her brother was there??My family mostly lost contact with each other and I have reached blank walls whenever I've tried to find out about him.
