Thanks for reminding me about my looking for information aboaut David Mortimer Davies in South Australia. For Christmas presents this year, I have done family trees for my family - one family on my father's side, and the other on my mother's side.A massive job, taking more than 6 months, but I am happy to lookup the information about David.
I found very little, but the following is what I found:-
ARRIVAL FROM OVERSEAS.
David davies (no Mortimer) occupation laborer (not preacher, although lay people can preach as well nowdays) from Monmouth, Wales married, aged 31 years, and wife (name not recorded) aged 32 yrs. and daughter, Ann aged 2 years, and John, infant arrived in South Australia aboard the "British Lion" which sailed 10th April 1866 ex Plymouth, and arrived in South Australia 15th July 1866.
I have found two births for children to a David davies, but unfortunately there are no records here for a David Mortimer which would make searching much easier.
CHILDREN BORN TO DAVID DAVIES & ANNA MARIA POLLARD.
1. Unnamed child, born 23rd March 1873 Spring Bank, District Yankalilla to David deakin davies and Anna Maria Pollard reference book 120 page 390
2. Ada Annie born 13th May 1871 Spring Bank Yankalilla District Yankalilla to David davies and Anna Maria Pollard.
Alfred John Garfield born 27th April 1888 Duryea Mine, District Daly to David Davies and Mary Elizabeth Thomas. reference book 419 page 116
I'm sorry I cannot be of any further help, as there are numerous records for David Davies, but none with a middle Christian name of Mortimer, so I could not be positive that those records are the ones you want.
I hope I have not left you with more questions than you began.
