Thomas Allan, convict, arrived in VDL on the Lord Lyndoch on 5 February 1841.He was 20 years of age and sentenced to 15 years for burglary. I appears that he served his full term, or more, because of his conduct.I think he may have been set free in October 1856. A Thomas Allan married a Wilhelmina Clinkscales in Launceston on 20 October 1860. (I do not have his mariage certificate as I think they provide very little information). Wilhelmina arrived in Lauceston on 26 November 1859 on the ship Broomielaw from Glasgow as a domestic servant. Thomas and Wilhelmina then went Dunedin, N.Z. where he bacame an nurseryman.
Is the convict Thomas Allan the same person that married Wilhelmina? or could it be a son? He was found in bed with a women prisoner during his imprisonment. Can anyone help. Allan Jamesin
