Nothing on "Cuke". Have also seen spelling as "Coock(e)", even as late as 1750's (my family, records of Cumberland County, VA). My line = "Cooke". In one county in VA, within the last 15 years, I was asked "how do you spell that" when I told them my name was "Cooke". Why? In that county, "Cocke" was often pronounced "Cook". THAT surname is currently most often associated with Cox/Cocks.
Have you considered DNA testing? We would love to have a "Cuke" in the Project. We currently have Cook, Cooke, and Koch. Email me if you are interested (CookDNA[at]hotmail[dot]com)
As for the Will: is there an on-line request option?
