I am researching three Bermuda families who were supposed to be already all related in England before coming to Bermuda, continued to intermarry with each other in Bermuda, and were all settled in Virginia and South Carolina from Bermuda on the same ship: called variously Pinella, Prinella, Punella, or Prunella. The three families were the Todds, Mallorys, and Rivers families who may have been from Eling in England which is in an area called "Southampton" just like Port Royal was. There was a John Todd who married in 1644 and died in 1677, the son of Wm Todd & Mary Tudor. The Capt. Todd of the Pinella may have been the nephew of Joseph Todd, Treasurer of the Bermuda Co., who married Elizabeth Mallory and took the 3 families to a place called Bermuda Hundred in Chesterfield Co., Va. and a place called James Island in Chesterfield Co., SC so there may be another coincidence of names here too.
