Hello, Thanks for the response. The book has a ton of info on the Tucker's everything I probably need. It's very confusing. Here's what the book says, if you don't already know. It started with I. William Tucker (1495-by 1553) II. George Tucker, esquire (1520-1587), eldest son, Lord of he Manor and married Mary Hunter III. George Tucker, Esquire (1560-1625) same info, married first Elizabeth Stoughton and second Mary Darrell.
Your side: IV. George Tucker, Esquire (1593,will 1639, proved 1648), eldest. Married Elizabeth Sidley.
V) George Tucker, Esquire (1620-1663). Relocated to Bermuda. Married Francis St. George. There sixth child was Henry Tucker, who fathered St. George Tucker, etc...
IV. My Henry, Esquire (1611-1687), was the third son by his second wife Mary Darrell. So my Henry Tucker(IV) and your George Tucker IV were brothers, they just had diferent mothers. This is probably more than you wanted to know.
Thomas Tucker, som of yor Henry hd a daughtr, s the book says a: Frances Tucker no dates on birth/death, married a General John Montressor of the British Army
Here's what I have on My George Tucker: He was the fourth son of George Henry Tucker(1611-1687), Bermuda Secretary and Sarah Turner. Records at St. Anne's Parish Church, Port Royl, Southhampton, indicate he was baptized Sept. 28, 1656. It was stated that he had a twin named Mary, born 1652. Baptisms sometimes occured later. He supposedly married a Miss Rush, d/o Issac Rush who lived for a while in Bermuda before locating to South Carolina. This George Tucker is thought to be he same who attested the will of a William Crabb at Edisto Island, S.C. in 1687/88. The will was administered at the home of a very wealthy and influential woman, a Mrs. Axtell. George's wife Mary was there as well, and Mary's name was on George's estate when it was adminstered in 1701. Thomas and Authur appear to be his progeny, but such has not been researched. I have genalogy that goes back to South carolina from 1725. I'm tring to find the actual will of this George Tucker. I think it was destroyed. He did exist because he's mentioned in other documentation and Thomas also has a will, but he died intetate and it's hard to read. Authur Tucker also existed and later into the area where my Tucker's lived. I have no doubt these are my ancestors, but I'm missig 2 generations. St. George Tucker came to South carolina later. This is all for now, hope I haven't bored you. Debra Tucker
