I have knowledge of a monument/plaque that is said to have been placed in the Vitina town center by the locals. On this plaque are the names of aproximately 13 people who were beheaded by the Turks. In their memory, the village placed this plaque there for all to see and it still remains. It is said the 13 were beheaded for fighting against the Turks. One of my ancestors is on this plaque, Nikolas Pandzic. If anyone has information of a link to a website or information about this conflict in 1836. Please let me know. I obtained this information from a relative in Croatia. My father brought it back from there 2 years ago. I can no longer speak to this person, he has pasted on. If anyone knows this same information, please forward. I have exhausted the internet and can not find a lead.
