Catholics (i.e. Croats) are pretty much wiped out from that area through the 20th century due to wars and all kinds of terror. Not sure how to explain that a Pole was from Dobrljin, no Polish people there whatsoever. Besides, according to his Ellis Island record he was traveling with all Croats around him, and Kuzman is a common surname around here (not only among Croats). Still, Austria Hungary was multiethnic and you should keep all options open including the one he was assigned to work there or something.
But again - are you SURE he was from Poland? If yes – from where?
Did you find his wife’s and kids’ immigration manifests?
I found Josef and Herman’s:
First Name:Josef
Last Name:Kuzman
Ethnicity:Austria, Polish
Last Place of Residence:Dobrlin, Austria
Date of Arrival:Sep 29, 1907
Age at Arrival: 40yGender:MMarital Status:M
Ship of Travel:Francesca
Port of Departure:Trieste
Manifest Line Number:0012
First Name:Herman
Last Name:Kuzman
Ethnicity:Croatia, Hungary, Croatian
Last Place of Residence:Zdala, Croatia
Date of Arrival:May 10, 1909
Age at Arrival: 3yGender:MMarital Status:S
Ship of Travel:Berlin
Port of Departure:Bremen
Manifest Line Number:0017
Josef traveled with 2 Rengel man, Josef and Stjepan (both from Zdalje)
And in the manifest for Herman - he is listed as Croatian arriving from Zdala. Herman arrived to the States with a lady named Jalza Rengel - most probably she was Josef Rengel’s wife.
Not sure where “Zdalje” is – my guess is the village of ZDALA in north Croatia. The problem is that I can’t find Rengel nor Kuzman listed there today. However there are SABOL folks.
Zdala parish website:

As for tracing Dobrljin parish, not easy. As I said the church was destroyed zillion times in the last couple of centuries. I think I found Dobrljin today is administrated by Šurkovac parish in Banja Luka Diocese (also destroyed back in the 90’s)

Perhaps contacting diocese could help.
