Recently, I received a response from Alexenia Dimitrova from the second largest daily to Bulgaria’s “24 Hours Daily” Newspaper.Alexenia is a journalist and takes special interest in uniting family members with one another. In my case, I was looking for my first cousin, Marijka Benko, daughter to Julius (aka Gyula/George) Benko.I provided Alexenia with enough information, Marijka’s last known location, my cousin’s husband’s name, dates, and a few facts only known to my cousin and myself!I also provided her with a few pictures.Within a few days, Alexenia had located my cousin, who was now widowed and in poor health. My precious cousin will now be flooded with all kinds of letters from all her first cousins in the USA. Today, I mailed my dear first cousin a letter and some pictures.
I never would have found my first cousin because she no longer had a telephone, and her address changed. My quest was to find my precious first cousin, and Alexenia met my quest!I am a success story.
It was significant that we keep our Hungarian-Bulgarian lines of communications open that has spanned FOUR generations, starting with my grandmother! It brought tears to my Marijka, when a correspondent of Alexenia’s knocked on my cousin’s door in Vidin, Bulgaria. It brought tears to Alexenia, and it brought tears to me, it was as if I knocked on that door myself! Our story was published in the “24 Hours Daily” Newspaper in Bulgaria!
Alexenia has been uniting families, and since 2002 has successfully united 50 families thus far, including me!So continue posting to this Bulgarian forum, an angel like Alexenia may contact you!Nadine
