I am looking for descendants of Murdock & Effie (McNicoll) McLeod, married Achnacarnin, Assynt, Scotland 1801, emigrated to Nova Scotia 1820. They were known, in N.S. as the "King" McLeods. His last child,my great grandfather, was born in Scotland, was Captain Angus McLeod who lived at Boularderie Centre, Cape Breton, N.S. My grandfather was John "Cricket" McLeod who married Isobella McKenzie of Black Brook, Boularderie Island, N.S. One of Murdock's daughters, Dolena married Murdock Smith (also of Boularderie) in Colorado. Murdock's first son, also Murdock, or his son, moved to Ontario then to British Columbia. I have since found, thru Family Tree DNA, in Texas, one of his great-great grandsons, who lives in British Columbia. Murdock's youngest son, Norman "King" was born in Nova Scotia and lived at Baddeck Bay.I have been unable to locate Murdock & Effies and Norman's graves. Murdock owned 200 acres in St. Ann's and it is thought they originally lived on 50 acres in Englishtown. One of either Murdock or Angus' daughters married one of Angus McAskill, the Cape Breton Giant, from Englishtown.
